Brian and Kim are having a baby! To reveal if it is a boy or a girl they are having a gender reveal party. They told me the gender and I made the cake blue for a boy or pink for a girl. The party is tonight so I can't say much :)

Steve's Birthday Cake - February 2012
My Dad's birthday is February 3rd and we celebrate in along with our Super Bowl Party. His favorite cake is a chocolate cake with easy cream filling and chocolate frosting. The easy cream filling is cool-whip, coconut and mini chocolate chip. I sprinkled heart confetti on top so there was some color.

Kyle's Birthday Cake - January 2012
Kyle wanted a football cake this year. I make a First and Ten football cake (Wilton pan). I put it on a cake board and decorated it as directed. Then I made a 9x13 cake, chocolate with coconut creme filling. I place the football cake on the 9x13 cake.
Kyle wanted to have his cake with the Young Men at church. It was also Lori's birthday (the Young Women's President) so I made her a cake too. See the pictures on the next post down.

Kyle and Melissa's Birthday Cupcakes - January 2012
Kyle and his cousin have birthdays that are back to back. So we celebrate them together as a family. This year we went to Casa Bonita for dinner. We were able to bring cake and presents. It was easier to make cupcakes and transport them. I made banana split cupcake. I made strawberry cupcakes and filled them with marshmallow cream, and frosted them with banana frosting. I then dipped the cupcakes in ganache and topped each one with a cherry. They were really good.

Hellstrom Family Reunion Cake - July 2011
I made a cake for our family reunion. It had our logo for the reunion on it (the Denver skyline because the reunion was in Denver and the HE'11STROM at the top). This was the logo we had on all the Amazing Race clues. I did half white cake with raspberry filling and the other half chocolate cake with coconut filling. This was before all the little fingers got to the cake :)
Kyle's Half Birthday Cake - July 2011
We decided we would start celebrating Kyle's half birthday with his friends, and his actual birthday with family. It is much easier to plan a birthday party in warm weather :). Kyle had been taking swimming lessons this summer and wanted a water park birthday party. I made a cake to look like a water park. It was a 3 tier cake and their were slides going down to each tier. The boats were made of chocolate and the people were made of fondant. It was 100 degrees on the day of the party (the only day we hit 100 of course) and the boats melted before I could get them on the cake. We lost over 1/2 of them :(. Live and learn! Kyle insisted on having sharks in the water.
